Ellen now is doing her PHD in physics in Amsterdam.
She moved to the current places in past two years on her own.
I video called Ellen when I woke up from a short nap tonight. It was a chill chat with her. It was a sunny day in Amsterdam today and I saw beautiful sunlight full of the house.I touched by her lovely smile and she told me she seems to have adjusted to the life of quarantine here already. But working from home made her wanna be a lazy ass sometime.
At first she introduced every corner in her place to me that is basically clean and simple. I felt like she only keep important things without anything extra encumbrance. And she played some music from Faye Wong for me in her living room to make the chatting vibe more relaxing. When I saw a guitar at the corner of living room, she started to pick it up and play < You're my waterloo> by the libertines aka the band we both love.It was kinda cute. Then we moved to her balcony and I was surprised as she got a lot of plants in her place. She planted some little bell peppers and some green plants. I asked to visit her bedroom where she basically work in and chill. And I saw her desk with a tech art mag there. That is the very first time I "entered" a scientist's bedroom.
Actually I met Ellen several years ago and I still remember that she loves cooking so the final station of visiting this time is the kitchen. Later we checked her fridge which is arranged in good order and full of organic vegetable.
In the end, I can see a very chill vibe rather than any anxiety from Ellen's quarantine. As same as Hou Hou, she is quite confident and relax when she faced the lens but in a very different way without any aggressiveness. It is more like when you walk into a river and your bald feet can feel the natural flow of water there.
